It was a Saturday night and I wanted something sweet! But not too much that we had tons of leftover right before going out of town. This was perfect! We also played a two player game that I’m usually pretty good at, but this time got whopped on by Jon. *sigh*. Next time!

Apple Pie Cinnamon Rolls
Ohmygosh these are so good. Make a small little dough, make some apple pie filling while the dough rises and you video call family, put it together and roll it up and bake! Ice it to your heart’s content. The Banana Diaries has done it again! That gooey apple pie filling is delightful, and the maple icing is a nice touch pulling it all together. It made 6 medium sized rolls, which was a great amount for some leftovers but not too many to feel ridiculous. If you ever thought to yourself, I can’t make a huge big batch of cinnamon rolls! It’ll take forever! It’ll be so messy! It’ll make too much! This recipe is your answer. Make it today for yourself and your buddy.
Jaipur
Jaipur is a 2 player classic, an oldie but a goodie, and recently made my list of top 6 games you should own if you’re just starting your collection. Simple to learn and play, but turns full of angst and strategy. I realized I don’t have many good pictures of this in play, not because we haven’t played it much but because many of our plays are at coffee shops. It’s super portable and easy to whip out a game over a coffee date.
You play in 3 rounds and best of 3 wins. Each round you’re trying to be the best at the market. You can either 1) take all the camels from the market 2) take one card from the market (and it gets replaced from the deck) 3) take multiple goods (not mixed with camels) from the market, replacing them with any combination of your camels and goods. You have a terrible hand limit of 7, and the game is all about the timing of when to take cards/camels and when to sell. You can sell your goods, and the sooner you do the more they’re worth, but if you sell more you get bonuses. The game ends when several stacks of goods are gone, or the deck is empty. The person with the most camels gets a bonus, obviously haha, and best of 3 wins! It’s a great one for a chill evening of a little thinking but not too much.
