Vegan Street has become our new favorite food in Calgary! We’ve been there a couple of times now, once for brunch and once for lupper, and it did not disappoint either time! It began in 2018 as a food truck, (like so many awesome places do!), and is “Calgary’s first full-service 100% vegan restaurant”!
I forgot to grab pictures of their complete menu, but man is it extensive! The first time we went, we got the perogy bowl and chicken & waffles for brunch…yum! I’m dying to go back for brunch and try their cherry crisp waffles! Most recently, we went for lupper after seeing Come From Away (wow, so good!), and got the Jalapeno Cheeze Dip, Beaf Dip Sandwich with a side of mushroom soup, No-Fish Taco, and, our favorite of the afternoon, the Sweet Chili Chickin Taco. Our friends got the portobello taco, buffalo chickin caesar wrap, and crispy chicken burger with truffle parm fries. Jon and I are (obviously) vegan, and our two friends are vegetarian, one with severe sesame and peanut allergies. Everyone was SO happy with their food, and we were all torn with wanting to get more things.
They also have a kids menu, fantastic drink selection (including non-alcoholic fun things!), and an extensive allergy free menu with servers well versed in what is safe for various needs, restrictions, and allergies. See their full menus here.
Their decor is bright and colorful with fun art, and the patio is pet friendly (which is how we were able to go the first time, while on our way back from Waterton on our anniversary with Gromit!). They also have a sister location called The Attic upstairs, which has more dinner options like amazing looking pastas and pizzas that I’ve been dying to try. There’s always advertising fun events that they host, and they regularly support places like the Alice Sanctuary, 2SLGBTQIA+ non-profits, and other community resources. What’s not to love about this fantastic place??
Now if only it had a location about an hour closer…
